Council Meeting
At the Council meeting on November 5, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in Council Chambers (111 Sandiford Drive), Council will be asked to endorse the Westfield Estates Neighbourhood Block Plan. The Block Plan will assist the Town in planning and evaluating potential future redevelopment applications in the neighbourhood, while ensuring the adequate provision of infrastructure, community services, facilities and parks for existing and future residents.
The Town’s consultants will present Council with an overview of the Block Plan, including recommendations with respect to potential future land uses, built forms, parks and open spaces, and development phasing. The Final Block Plan is consistent with the preferred land use option that was presented to Council on June 18, 2025.
The consultant’s presentation and Staff Report DS-044-25 (Westfield Estates Neighbourhood Land Use Study), including the Final Block Plan (Report Attachment #1), will be made available by noon on Thursday October 30th, on the Council Agenda webpage.

Council Meeting
Council Update June 18th at 10:00 a.m.:
At the Council Meeting on June 18, 2025 (10:00 a.m.), Council will be presented with an update on the status of the Westfield Estates Land Use Study. The purpose of the presentation and Staff Report is to provide an overview of the feedback received at the Public Open House on March 18, 2025, and draft recommendations that will inform the Preferred Land Use Option.
At this meeting, it is recommended that Council receive the Staff Report for information, and no Council decisions are being made at this time. Comments to Council in advance of the meeting, may be submitted to: councilmeetings@townofws.ca(External link). Following the meeting, comments may be submitted to westfield@townofws.ca(External link) for consideration in preparing the Preferred Land Use Option. Comments are requested by July 2, 2025.
It is anticipated that the final Preferred Land Use Option and recommendations will be presented to Council in Fall 2025 for endorsement.
