Built Heritage CategoriesA built heritage property is a building, property or constructed remnant that adds to a community&rsquo;s heritage and identity.Recipients are considered in two categories: residential property and non-residential property (i.e. commercial, industrial, institutional, etc.). CriteriaProperties will be evaluated based on the following criteria:<ol><li>Architectural significance: This criteria will look at the features of the building and property including craftsmanship, architectural features, and representation of architectural style and time period.</li><li>Context: This criteria will examine the property in relation to its area &ndash; is it notable compared to neighbours? Whitchurch-Stouffville Heritage Awards

Aspen Crescent Parkette will be revitalized this year. The 4,950 m2 (0.5 ha) parkette is located at 41 Penndutch Circle, near the intersection of Forsyth Farm Drive and Tenth Line. The park revitalization is proposed to include several features, including a playground, outdoor seating, open space, and pathways. A hired consultant has developed a concept as part of the project&#39;s design phase. The Town has notified the community to join the open house to view the proposed park design. Get Involved Open House A public open house will be held for residents later this month to learn more about the project and view the presented draft concept plan. The open house takes place on May 22nd, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Nineteen on the Park (19 Civic Avenue). Revitalization of Aspen Crescent Parkette

<h3><img src="https://s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com/ehq-production-canada/81922a8e96f8db44eb2eb256152d2eb1d44c12e1/original/1715880920/50161faabbd3d6164ff3dee023c8ed97_Ashpalt_Bethesda.jpg?1715880920" style="width: 469px;" class="fr-fic fr-fil fr-dii"></h3>The Public Works &ndash; Capital Projects division undertakes the Asphalt Roadway Rehabilitation project aimed at renewing and extending the life of Town&rsquo;s road infrastructure. Candidate roadways are identified through various condition assessments, maintenance histories, resident complaints, and future development considerations. The project incorporates approximately 2.2Km of asphalt roadway Rehabilitation along Bethesda Side Road from Warden Avenue to Woodbine Avenue. The work will generally include removal of the asphalt surface and placement of new asphalt. Driveways and boulevards will be restored as necessary up to property line. Work is anticipated to be similar to the recent work completed in 2023 on Fox Farm Gate and Sherrick Drive.Construction is anticipated to begin during the month of May 2024 with project completion anticipated by end of July 2024. Timing of activities within the project will vary depending on weather conditions, contractor schedule, and material availabilities. <hr> Road Closures and Traffic ControlThe Bethesda Side Road Asphalt Roadway Rehabilitation may require reduced lanes during paving activity. Notice of Construction will be delivered to affected residents prior to construction.
